Few superheroes inspire dread as much as Homelander. It’s not just that he is a Superman clone, making him a god amongst men within the universe of The Boys. It’s that he is very well aware of this fact and isn’t restricted by any moral code. After all, in his own words, “I’m stronger, I’m smarter, I’m better. I Am Better!”
But, just as Supes has his Kryptonite, the superhero has his failings. He is an overgrown manchild who frequently lets his emotions dictate his actions. That makes him incredibly volatile and dangerous—two qualities making him a perfect addition to the Mortal Kombat 1 roster!

When putting together an anti-superhero crew in a world full of superheroes, "The Boys" creators Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson introduced Billy Butcher -- a character almost as deplorable as the supes he fights against. Across 72 issues, Ennis and Robertson put their lead anti-hero in tense situations that rendered morally bankrupt decisions, ending in an all-knowing Billy Butcher smile.
While Karl Urban take on Billy Butcher in the Prime Video streaming series adaptation doesn't go quite as hard as the comics, the darkness of the character remains. His mission to wipe out the evil superheroes of the world continues to be a noble and understandable venture, but arguably, the ends rarely justify the means Butcher employs.
Season 3 of "The Boys" left Butcher with a terminal diagnosis, and therefore, a set deadline to complete his life's pursuit. Karl Urban has expressed his desire of where he wants Billy Butcher to go...

Oi there, listen up! Amazon Prime Video’s list of new releases for June 2024 includes another season of its biggest, bloodiest hit.
The Boys season 4 premieres its first three episodes on Thursday, June 13. Based on the trailers, The Boys is really leaning into the political side of its social satire with a presidential election underway and Homelander on trial for the small matter of killing a guy last season. The season will continue to air on Thursdays, culminating with the finale on July 18.
Amazon is really leaning into its sports offerings this month as well. Fans will get to watch the New York Yankees, the WNBA, and the Nwsl several times throughout June. That’s in addition to a couple of sports docs: Power of the Dream on June 18 and Federer: Twelve Final Days on June 20.
But if you’re looking for something even more explosive than Homelander and Roger Federer,...

During a conversation with Inverse, Eric Kripke gave a little tease, claiming that it’s almost impossible to predict if and when a television series will end. Despite previously claiming to have a master plan regarding his shows and season renewals in 2020, Kripke amended his attitude on The Boys‘ future during a recent interview. Eric Kripke’s The Boys has forever changed the superhero genre as it featured an unorthodox take that was immediately appreciated by the fans. The popularity stemmed from deviating from the original concept of how superheroes should be noble and save the day. However, Kripke defenestrates that notion as he makes the heroes become villains. As a result, the show became an instant hit and the new favorite show of the viewers.

The Boys continues with its satirical comparisons of Antony Starr’s Homelander and former President Donald J. Trump. The fictional corporation Vought International shared a sneak peek of Homelander’s trial from Season 4 almost immediately after Trump was convicted on 34 felony charges in New York. The captions also make fun of the guilty verdict as it suggests that Homelander has been found guilty.

5 Reasons Why Superman Would Beat Homelander - Main Image
If the Man of Steel were up against The Boys' most notorious antagonist, the world would be in chaos. The question is, who would win?
In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Antony Starr gave plenty of reasons why Homelander would beat Superman in a 1v1. But we beg to differ. While Homelander is a killing machine, we doubt he would stand a chance against the mighty Superman.
This article explains why the DC superhero would obliterate Dynamite Entertainment’s beloved villain.
Superior Powers and Abilities
While Homelander is insanely powerful and possesses many abilities, he’s below Superman in terms of potential. Superman is faster, stronger, and more resilient.
The character of Homelander was inspired by Superman, which is why you can draw parallels between them. However, Homelander is still much weaker than Superman in terms of sheer strength and abilities.

Antony Starr has made a major impact as the psychotic Supe known as Homelander over three seasons of Prime Video's The Boys adaptation, but is there a chance he might suit-up as a more conventional superhero at some point?
A recent rumor claimed that the title role in the planned Max Booster Gold series has already been cast, and when fans noticed that Starr and DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn had started following each other on Instagram, speculation mounted that the Aussie actor may have been cast as Michael Jon Carter.
Why that particular character and not another Dcu role? Well, Booster is blonde, and Starr... plays a blonde guy on The Boys.
At any rate, it doesn't sound like the social media sleuths have landed on something here - not that Starr would confirm if they had!
"Me and James just play golf," Starr told ComicBook.com when asked about the rumors.

Antony Starr is famous primarily for his roles in television series, notably for portraying the character of Homelander in the popular superhero show “The Boys.’ In the show, Starr plays a psychopathic “superhero” Homelander, and honestly, it’s hard imagining him as anything else these days.
So, how is Starr currently connected to the Dcu? He isn’t. But fans did notice a while ago that the actor and the director follow each other on social media.
This spawned plenty of theories, and considering that the ‘Booster Gold’ TV show was discussed a lot in the last few weeks, fans connected the dots and assumed that Starr would play the titular character, mostly due to his physical similarities to the comic character and apparently, his friendship with James Gunn.
In his recent interview with ComicBook, Starr addressed the rumors and shot it down pretty quickly.

In the vast realm of comic book history, there have been several powerful and iconic superheroes, and DC’s Superman certainly occupies a high rank among them. One of the greatest characters of all time, fans of the Kryptonian hero have often stated that he can champion and defeat even the evilest of evil characters.

And so while there has been debate about whether Superman can defeat a certain Marvel or Anime character or not, his evil twin from the Dynamite Entertainment comics Homelander too has found his way into the discourse. And Antony Starr, who portrays Homelander in The Boys series, thinks his character would definitely defeat the DC hero. Yet, fans have conclusive proof that Superman is better, bigger, and bolder than Homelander when it comes to defeating evil.

The Boys are primarily known as a comic book series, but Amazon Prime’s streaming adaptation of the comic book – which contains a lot of changes and additions – has helped the series become a global phenomenon. And while Homelander is undoubtedly the series’ biggest villain – and believe us, this means a lot, since the series is full of villains – there are still some deluded fans who actually idolize the Superman-gone-wrong character and his worldview, which is why the actor portraying the character, Anthony Starr, decided to react and set things straight with the fans, explaining Homelander’s real point to them.
Some fans might not like to hear this, but Homelander is evil, and there is absolutely nothing redeeming about him, so supporting him in any way is wrong. He is a symbol of everything that is wrong in the series, a symbol of corrupt power and narcissism, and if you don’t believe us,...

The third season of Eric Kripke’s The Boys has been as popular as the first two, with fans loving the appearance of new faces to the main cast of the show such as Jensen Ackles in the role of Soldier Boy. With the 4th season right around the corner, the enthusiasm for the show continues to grow. Interestingly, during the 3 seasons, a strange phenomenon has been noticed, that is how some fans are deeply obsessed with Antony Starr’s Homelander.

An essential element of the fanbase’s love for the antagonist is his narcissistic and manipulative behavior, and it has grown to the point where they are obsessed with the character. This notion has captured Starr’s attention and responded to the fans who are imitating the Supe in real life.

Superman stands as a pinnacle among superheroes, renowned for his unmatched strength, resilience, and array of powers. Many have been pitted against him, often falling short.
However, comparisons become complex when his counterpart, Homelander, enters the discussion. Homelander, a clone of Superman in ‘The Boys’ universe, possesses similar powers but is characterized by darker, more twisted tendencies.
Numerous theoretical battles between Superman and Homelander have been debated, typically with Superman emerging victorious. Recently, Jack Quaid, the voice actor for Superman in ‘My Adventures With Superman,’ expressed confidence in Superman’s ability to defeat Homelander while promoting the show’s second season.
Antony Starr caught wind of the claim and delivered a perfectly hilarious yet fittingly true response, staying completely in line with Homelander’s character.
Antony Starr: Oh, really? Is that what he thinks? Here’s why Homelander would kick Superman’s ass. There’s no Kryptonite factor, and Homie would fight so dirty.

As one of the most powerful and most popular superheroes of all time, Superman is often the golden standard when it comes to measuring strength, durability, and other superpower-related factors. Plenty of characters have been measured against Superman and plenty lost, the things however get murky when the character being compared to Superman, is his clone, at least when powers are concerned.
One such Superman clone is Homelander, who belongs to ‘The Boys’ universe, with darker, twisted, and more sadistic personality traits.
Plenty of ‘Superman Vs. Homelander’ theoretical fights exist and it most often ends with Superman on the winning side. Recently, Jack Quaid, ‘My Adventures With Superman’ voice actor who portrays Superman in the show commented how Superman would have no trouble defeating Homelander while promoting the second season of the show.
Antony Starr heard about it and had a perfectly hilarious response that is also quite true and completely in character for Homelander.

Many of our beloved shows’ new seasons are going to be released this summer, and it only means one thing: put aside whatever you are watching now and get ready to dive back into the greatest stories you once followed.
Here are 5 shows we are already rewatching and so should you.
1. House of the Dragon
Season 2: Releasing June 16 on HBO

Giancarlo Esposito recently confirmed that he had joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe... but not as the character he's been campaigning to play over the past few months, Charles Xavier.
During Ccxp back in May (via Collider), Esposito revealed that he will be appearing in a Marvel Studios project, but declined to reveal any more details. The actor did say that we'd find out "sooner rather than later," and the role is "better than you can imagine."
There was some speculation that Esposito might show up in the cameo-filled Deadpool and Wolverine, but according to Mttsh, he will be making his MCU debut in an upcoming Disney+ series.
Does this narrow down the character possibilities? Not really, since we have Agatha All Along, Ironheart, Daredevil: Born Again, and the recently announced Vision series all on the horizon, as well as more Marvel Spotlight presentations such as Wonder Man.

Batman: The Long Halloween had been adapted into two films that, albeit handled poorly by Warner Brothers, were still relatively well received by fans. It seems that there could be a third film to round out the trilogy, as DC has announced its follow-up to The Long Holloween, a 10-issue series by the writer of Daredevil: Yellow, Batman: Hush, and Batman: The Long Halloween, Jeph Loeb.
A still from Batman: The Long Halloween
While there are no official indications of a threequel being made to round out the Long Halloween trilogy if a film were to be made, it is most likely that the actors of the other two films will reprise their roles for the third one. This would mean that Jensen Ackles, who essays the role of Soldier Boy for Amazon’s hit R-rated superhero shoe, The Boys, can return to voice Batman.

The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke has brought several Supernatural stars over to his Prime Video superhero drama over the last few years, and now he’s got his eye on Jared Padalecki.
Given the recent cancellation of Walker, the time may finally be right for Jared Padalecki to join The Boys, even if it’s just for a single episode. “He’s been busy the last few years, so schedules haven’t worked out,” Kripke told Variety. “But now, unfortunately, [Walker] got cancelled — but the good thing is he’s free, and I feel like I have to complete my game of Supernatural Pokémon and I have my one big one — very big one — left to catch.“

We're now just three weeks away from the season 4 premiere of The Boys, and Prime Video has shared a new still spotlighting the reshuffled members of the "superhero" team known as The Seven.
The updated roster (it's a running joke that there's never actually seven of them) consists of original members Homelander, The Deep, A-Train, and Black Noir (with a different character under the mask), along with two new recruits.
As you might expect, these ladies turn out to be every bit as unhinged/amoral as pretty much every other Supe that's been part of the team, but one, in particular, might be the most dangerous of all: The smartest person in the world, Sister Sage (Susan Heyward).
"It's such a funny power," showrunner Eric Kripke says of the scheming Supe in a recent interview with EW. "A lot of superhero worlds have that character. Whereas most of them are usually really reedy white dudes,...

Every show on television relies on a set of tropes that have already been explored in plays or classic literature. However, there are many creative ways to mix them up and translate them through the unique characters. Variety is what makes the show good, while repetition can easily become its downfall.
Luckily for all fans of Prime Video's The Boys, the show has managed to survive for many years, giving its creators a chance to take the story in the direction it was meant to go all along. The only problem is that Eric Kripke's creative choices so far lead the majority of viewers to believe they already know what to expect.

The Boys is one of the best superhero series with some of the most gory and violent action sequences. Based on a comic book series of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, the Prime Video series is created by Eric Kripke and it follows the story of a young man named Hughie whose girlfriend is killed by a reckless supe, because of that, he joins Billy Butcher with a team of vigilantes who are trying to get justice against the supes, who are backed by their very violent leader Homelander and an evil corporation Vought. The Boys is just getting better with each new and let’s hope that’s the case for the upcoming fourth season. DC Studios is developing Booster Gold as a TV series for Max. While rumours of production beginning imminently appear to be incorrect, it seems casting may be heating up as the Dcu readies itself for a superhero unlike any other.
In the comics, Mike Carter was a college football star in the 25th Century who ruined his career by wagering money on his own games. Forced to take a job as a security guard in the Metropolis Space Museum, he stole future tech to travel back in time and become a "superhero" (all while hoping to monetise being a good guy).
He'd later become a genuine time-travelling superhero and is a character who might be a game-changer for the Dcu. While casting such a complex character won't be easy, we have some suggestions which could do Booster justice both on streaming and in theaters.

Antony Starr gained prominence through his television roles, particularly for his portrayal of the character Homelander in the hit superhero series “The Boys.” In this show, Starr embodies the role of the psychopathic “superhero” Homelander, which has become synonymous with his name in recent times.
However, there’s currently no direct connection between Starr and the DC Universe. Nevertheless, fans have taken notice of a recent development: both Starr and James Gunn, co-ceo of DC Studios, have begun following each other on Instagram in the past few days.

Antony Starr is perhaps the face of morally complex characters in today’s day and age. From The Boys to Banshee, complexity is something he carries in front of the camera like no one else. The darkness within a character takes a great amount of skill to exude and that is something the actor excels at. The patience and dedication it takes is what fans appreciate wholeheartedly.

While Starr isn’t typecasted in the role of a character battling his inner self through the darkness within him, there is no doubt that he plays the part perfectly. He may not be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe or the DC Universe yet but he has shown through Homelander that a role in the franchises wouldn’t be an opportunity anyone would regret. As such, the possibility may be nigh.

Antony Starr does an incredible job as The Boys’ villain and main antagonist, Homelander. While playing a narcissistic, murderous, moral-less character can be tiring and challenging, the actor has done an incredible job throughout the Prime Video series. Slated to get even more unhinged in the upcoming Season 4 of the series, the actor’s performance is one of the main draws for fans of the series.

Yet not only is he a fantastic villain, but he is also incredibly well-developed, equally complex and entertaining, a sociopath yet the perfect villain for a series as deranged as Eric Kripke’s The Boys.
